$14.99 a month plus HST for priority service and covered breakdown repairs. It runs for 60 months (5 years) and then billing stops, which is the part most plans in this category do not do.
Plus HST, billed monthly: on a card if you bought outright, or with your monthly debit if you financed. A credit card surcharge of up to 2.4% may apply, shown before you pay. You can decline it at checkout and add it later, or not at all.
After 60 months the plan ends and you stop paying for it. It is not an indefinite subscription, and it never renews on its own.
Available on equipment you buy outright or finance, 5 years old or newer. Never sold with a rental.
Why you cannot buy this with a rental
Because a rental already includes it. Service and repairs are part of what you pay for when you rent, so selling you a repair plan alongside one would be charging twice for the same thing. The option is not shown at all on a rental, rather than shown greyed out with a footnote.
That is the actual trade between the two. Renting costs more over a long horizon and covers the repair risk. Buying costs less and leaves that risk with you, and this plan is how you hand some of it back if you would rather not carry it.

What it is not

- Not cover for damage you cause, or for a system someone else worked on.
- Not a maintenance contract. It covers breakdowns rather than scheduled servicing.
- Not sold with a rental, because a rental already covers repairs.
- Not for equipment more than 5 years old.
